Michelle Dillon is an artist and teacher living and working in New Jersey. Her works often symbolically depict relationships and conflicts of the human spirit. They are created to get people to look and think twice, sometimes celebrating the ability to care, sometimes pointing out paradoxes in life. Although inspired by sculptural art forms, Michelle enjoys mixing collage with oil paints the most. The color in the paintings is applied using transparent glazes that create luminosity.

Michelle graduated from The Philadelphia College of Art (now The University of the Arts) with a degree in graphic design. For a dozen years she moved around the United States working as a designer. Since then, after earning a Masters degree in teaching, she has been teaching art and gifted student programs in schools and various other places, amused by the fact that she has taught three year olds up to eighty seven year olds, always inspired by how age doesn’t really matter when it comes to self expression and the joy of learning something new.

The recipient of a National Art Educators’ Foundation Grant, murals of her work and the art of students she has supervised can be seen at the Ocean Gate School. That collaboration led to Michelle becoming Teacher of the Year in 2011. She has won numerous awards and exhibited her paintings throughout New Jersey.
